ABOUT US
Liz Durfee is the owner and principal of EF | Design & Planning, LLC. Following several years of studies and work in Michigan, Liz returned to New Hampshire in 2013 to continue her planning career in the Seacoast region, a location that has always felt like home. In 2017, she made the leap into the world of independent consulting with the goals of crafting her practice around the functional planning areas most important to her, bringing new ideas and perspectives to projects, and providing flexible, reliable, and thoughtful services. Liz’s approach to planning is to improve the way human activity and natural systems function through innovative and integrated planning. Collaboration, transparency, quality, and commitment are core aspects of her work.

Liz has a B.S. in Environmental Conservation from the University of New Hampshire (2006) and an M.U.P in Urban and Regional Planning and an M.S. in Natural Resources from the University of Michigan (2011). Liz is a certified planner with the American Planning Association, a member of the NH Coastal Adaptation Workgroup, and a member of the NH Planners Association, from which she received the 2020 Planner of the Year Award.

Through the NH Coastal Adaptation Workgroup's Evolving Our Practice cohort program, we are strengthening our awareness of and skills in building equity into the structure of our projects and work.

Carbon Footprinting.
We're enrolled in the University of New Hampshire's Carbon Footprinting Certificate Program to continue to enhance our ability to bring diverse approaches to local resilience planning efforts.
